The Tea Party and the Republican Party promote the
Christian Reconstructionist belief that government should be small, laissez-faire capitalism should reign, and churches and charities will provide all social welfare needs. They have been winning the war of words on how people view government, thanks in large part to the apparently effective writings of conservative pundits and, of course, fear-mongering right-wing politicians.
