O, to write some fiction
O, to write some fiction,
beginning serenely, and then dissolving
into conflict and crises until resolving
and then ending keenly.
But is life like fiction?
Or, is it random snippets of stories mixing
conflict and crises, never fixing —
fragments in search of a proper home?
In other words, very much like a poem.

Life is much more like a poem than a story. Poetry is the best description of the world in my opinion, especially your perfectly crafted and so gently intelligent poetry.

Yes! This poem is exactly right. It's so hard to have grace and insight at the same time yet you do it with such apparent ease.

ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle after I read this. Life has no logic sometimes and only a basic structure to speak of - and that only dictated by the passing of time, biology, and our own cultural norms for each age of life. Good job.
