electronic fix

Animals (not human) have no electronic fix,
unless it's the cat swatting at birds she sees on Animal Planet,
or the dog poking his nose on an iPad screen,
or the chimp being trained to touch and drag.

They can go back to their realm,
happy in how they live. Not so
humans who have electronic addiction
and who cannot resist the screens

that pamper their brain with stimulus,
and who get entrapped in bit torrents
of electronic friends, never to physically meet,
but still satisfy their needs.

The leaning tower of wiener

The leaning tower of wiener^*
topples onto the grill
over hot-coal embers
with ratings to fulfill.

When it's good and burnt
and removed from the skewer,
the cooled embers go
into the nearby sewer.

The affair in The Cloud

The affair in The Cloud
within the puffy vapors
is troubled to hide
as the lightning tapers.

The Cloud grows dark
as menacing winds
up from the ground
abruptly ascends.

The sudden exposure
of secreted fears
are sent to the ground
as raindrop tears.

The Cloud is restored —
not so the affair
that couldn't withstand
the public's glare.

Haikus, fast and slow,
in the morning or at night:
Then to sleep they go.
